Jake Molenaar founded Molenaar Jewelers in 1941, making it the longest standing jewelry store in Boise.
Mr. Molenaar was both ambitious and generous. As he expanded into several
other locations, he gave various individuals who worked for him as well as his three
daughters the opportunity to own their own stores. In 1984, Susie Molenaar purchased
the Molenaar’s location on Broadway Avenue and operated it as an independent store.
Now, she has realized her dream of building a new, larger, modern 4,000-square-foot
store, also on Broadway. With the increased space, she’s been able to expand her
lines of beautiful designer jewelry, including unique one-of-a-kind pieces.
